McMaster Engineers with Disabilities

We’re happy to have you here!

About Us

McMaster Engineers with Disabilities (MEwD) was founded in 2023 to build a community and strengthen advocacy for engineering students with disabilities. Historically, students with disabilities have often been overlooked. As the first group of its kind globally, MEwD aims to assist engineering students with disabilities by providing a supportive community, organizing inclusive events, and advocating for representation.

Our mission is to offer academic, social, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to ensure every engineering student with a disability feels empowered to thrive.

How can I get involved?

Any student with a disability can come to us for support, regardless of their faculty or whether they have an official diagnosis. As a general member, you can join us at events or join our mentorship program. If you’d like to get more involved, keep an eye out on our Instagram page for executive member applications, which are launched in the spring.
